Questions to helpbefore you choose.
From the botanical starting point through to ordering. For product-specific details, the information on the relevant product page takes precedence.
What is kratom leaf powder?
Kratom refers to the leaves of the tropical tree Mitragyna speciosa. Our range offers them dried and finely ground as kratom leaf powder for creative and craft work in the studio or workshop. Product-specific information is provided directly with each item.
What is the leaf powder intended for?
For creative and craft work in the studio or workshop—for example, material tests, pictures, works on paper and mixed media. The leaf powder is not a food product and is not intended for human consumption or use on the human body.
What do Green, Red, White and Gold mean?
Green, Red, White and Gold organise the Leaf Archive. The product name and material code assign each item within its material group. They do not constitute a promise regarding colour, origin or quality. Product images show the packaging and pack size; the material profile describes the respective product.
What colour is the ground material?
Depending on the delivery, the finely ground kratom leaf powder displays natural green, olive, khaki and earth tones. Current product images show the packaging and pack size, not the exact colour of the powder. Light, screen settings, surface and application affect the visible result; your own test swatch is decisive.
Can I expect an exact colour?
Plant-based leaf powder does not have a fixed standard colour. Images may appear different depending on the screen; the surface, water or an artist medium, the material and the application method all influence its visible appearance.
How does the Leaf Set Builder work?
First choose your desired quantity or a Test Set, then add dry kratom varieties in the bags available for them. The progress indicator shows how much remains. Once the selected quantity is complete, you can review the Leaf Set and add it to the cart. Paper, brushes and other art supplies are not part of the Builder.
What is the difference between an individual material, a Studio Set and the Leaf Set Builder?
Individual products are ordered separately. Studio Sets are fixed combinations of dry kratom leaf powder and fully listed art supplies. In the Leaf Set Builder, you create your own combination using only dry kratom varieties and the available bags.
Is the leaf powder supplied as ready-to-use paint?
Individual materials and components of the Leaf Set Builder contain dry kratom leaf powder. Studio Sets contain the listed dry leaf powder and, depending on the set, paper and brushes. No binder or ready-mixed liquid paint is supplied.
How do I prepare an initial material test with water?
Begin by moistening a small amount of leaf powder on a palette with a little water and working it into an even mixture. Then add water drop by drop until the consistency suits the intended application; there is no universal fixed ratio because the material, surface and desired mark all vary. Water disperses the leaf powder but does not act as a binder. Test the result on a spare piece of the intended surface and allow it to dry completely. Full guidance is available on the Painting & Mixing page.
Which pack sizes are available?
Current pack sizes are shown directly with each product and in the Leaf Set Builder. Not every kratom variety is necessarily available in every size; the options currently displayed are definitive.
How should I store the leaf powder?
Keep out of reach of children. Store tightly closed, dry and protected from direct light. Also follow the information provided with the product and on the packaging.
What should I bear in mind when handling the material?
Keep out of reach of children. Avoid creating dust when opening, transferring or working with the material, and do not inhale the dust. Follow the product information and instructions on the packaging. The leaf powder is intended for creative applications and is not intended for human consumption or application to the human body.
How can I add yellow, red or blue to a picture?
Kratom leaf powder remains greenish, olive or earthy. For a distinct yellow, red, blue, white or black, use a separate artist pigment. Adding Colour provides clear examples and external sources. These pigments are not part of our kratom range.
Where can I find information about ordering and shipping?
Current prices and availability are shown with each product. Delivery and ordering information is displayed in the shop and during checkout. If you have a question about an existing order, the quickest route is to use the contact page and include your order number.
Which product information should I follow?
